About Author
Laurence and Muriel Baer
Laurence Baer, 73, and his wife Muriel have been joyfully married since 1979. Together they raised five married children and celebrate twelve grandchildren. Their family life has long reflected devotion, faith, and a living expression of Kingdom Participation. A Grammy nominated songwriter, entrepreneur, and author, Laurence’s life has been shaped by a deep, conversational relationship with God and a commitment to Intimacy with God, Spiritual Transformation, and Hearing God’s Voice. His journey began at UC Berkeley, where he studied physics until a profound spiritual turning point in 1974—later understood as Prophetic Realignment—led him to become a fulltime missionary for the Unification Church founded by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han, now known worldwide as Holy Mother Han.
In 1977, after escaping an attempted deprogramming, Laurence became a national advocate for religious liberty. His California Supreme Court case (Baer vs. Baer) helped establish religious groups as a protected class under anti discrimination law, and his story was featured by Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes.
In 1979, after completing sevenday water fasts, Laurence and Muriel met “by coincidence” in a kitchen in San Francisco. Six months later, Rev. Moon matched them from among 4,000 candidates, and in 1982 they joined the Marriage Blessing of 2,075 couples at Madison Square Garden.
Laurence launched successful businesses in Los Angeles, Houston, and New York.
In 1983, he helped organize an international financial conference in Geneva chaired by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert B. Anderson. This gathering of finance ministers and central bank presidents led to the founding of the Global Economic Action Institute (GEAI), where Laurence served as the first fulltime staff member and Executive Assistant in turn to its three chairmen: Anderson, Senator Eugene McCarthy, and Sir Robert Muldoon, former Prime Minister of New Zealand.

The GEAI quickly grew into a worldwide organization with chapters in some 14 countries and monthly breakfast programs in both New York and Washington, D.C.

During this time at GEAI, Laurence helped organize major conferences in San Jose, Costa Rica (1984); Jakarta, Indonesia (1986); Rome, Italy (1987); at the African Development Bank in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire (1988); Taiwan (1988); Budapest, Hungary (1989); Tokyo, Japan (1990);
and Moscow, Russia (1990). He worked with world leaders such as Dr. Allan Meltzer, a member of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisors, and Ambassador John Holdridge, who served at the US Diplomatic Mission to China.
Laurence worked directly with World Bank President Tom Clausen and his General Counsel Ibrahim Shihata, when GEAI helped secure support for the passage of MIGA, a division of the World Bank that now provides political risk insurance. After GEAI dissolved in 1992, Laurence worked in the private sector, serving as the National Sales Manager for ASATI, the pioneer company in the Air Structure industry and as National Sales Manager for Fiscal Concepts, a company involved in structuring residual value guarantees for the financing of aircraft. He also served as the president of an online real estate brokerage working with builders around America.
In 1997, Laurence was asked to serve as executive assistant to Neil Salonen, then secretary general for Family Federation International, to organize Blessing ’97.

Laurence later served as the director of Family Federation for Washington, D.C. He assisted with a conference in Uganda at Kampala University and events in Korea celebrating the 80th birthday of Rev. Moon. During this period, he also served on the board of directors for a public holding company that owned UK aircraft manufacturer, Britten-Norman.
In 2000, Laurence took up songwriting as a hobby and joined a monthly songwriters’ circle.
Between 2000 and 2018, he wrote and produced three award-winning CDs. One of his songs was included in the Grammy-nominated 2009 Family Circle CD by the Del McCoury Band. Laurence has worked with some of the very best acoustic musicians in the world and is currently launching Peacestars.tv, a global music competition featuring songs co-written by artists on the opposite sides of historic conflicts.
Laurence’s new book, Holy Mother Han and the Fifth Pledge, reveals the profound Prophetic Realignment now unfolding as the two thousand year Church Age concludes. It documents the global significance of Holy Mother Han—currently a political prisoner in South Korea—whose leadership has been recognized by current and former national leaders around the world. The book explores the angelic mobilization now underway, the opening of the Third Temple in 2025, and the unprecedented Ancestral Healing and Spiritual Transformation occurring across both the earthly and spiritual worlds.
Laurence’s work draws on a decade of EvidenceBased Spirit Communication, Angel Communication, and Realized Kingdom Authority. His earlier book, Taking God Seriously, chronicled his journey into daily journaling and divine revelation. His new book unveils the larger providential landscape of the Millennium and God’s active reclamation of heaven and earth.

First Book - Taking God Seriously
“As this is the time in which Heavenly Parent, who is intangible and invisible, can work in substantial way with True Parents on earth, you should be able to experience, feel, and act on your own initiative without True Parents teaching you at every stage. This is life in the kingdom of heaven on earth. Rather than with your own thinking, you must know how to lead for the sake of world peace through attending God”
